  Maurie Hill is a From beginnings as a junior photographer with a long defunct broadsheet, I moved into a technical role with Agfa-Gevaert. Then came a 10 year diversion into the marine industry, as a Mercury Hi-Performance dealer allowing indulgence in offshore powerboat racing, and competitive waterskiing. Then followed ten years of deep involvement with barefoot waterskiing, culminating in the honour of being official driver at half a dozen World Championships, and managing the NZ Team. Meanwhile returning to the camera, I moved into the then- new art of pro-video, creating a niche in tourism promotional video & tv products in New Zealand and the Pacific. Parallel with this was work location-finding for the film industry, through my own company A'Court-Taylor Ltd. Other commercial contracts followed which led to event management, with various multinationals including McDonald's with whom I ultimately invested, setting my partner up in franchises which continue today. The event management business led to a PCO role for a number of years, before turning full circle - back to still photography, where today I work as a freelance photographer, with my roots firmly in the tourism business. I travel worldwide extensively, always with a couple of cameras and an eye for the unique. But as an old skier and boy-racer, watersports and motorsports always feature in my portfolio. www.actv.nz
