Ever since studying business management at the university of Portsmouth and specialising in operations and supply chain management i have ignited a real passion for logistics. i found myself fascinated about all the components that make up a Slazenger tennis ball and where they come from before it makes the journey to Wimbledon. I continually found myself wanting to know more. I was able to secure a role as a supply chain coordinator shortly after graduating and found myself just as passionate in a real working environment. I was able to obtain 3-5 months FMCG experience in each of the following: Order processing shipping - Deep Sea Inventory management (including 3PL) I received responsibility and challenges from the get go which i am thankful for as it accelerated my learning and understanding of how important all functions in the end to end supply chain were. Dealing with potential issues became second nature and was able to efficiently follow the processes so that problems could be solved in a timely manner. Found great pleasure in looking at data and working with other departments to agree improved methods to the supply chain, providing improvements that were either cost effective or improved service levels. After working for 8 months i found myself due to sick leave of my manager, managing a team of 3 for a company that imports 1500 containers annually and delivers to all major retailers. This was my greatest challenge yet but took pride in supporting the team during a challenging period. I was later promoted to Supply Chain Manager after working just over a year and again managed the team during another difficult period. This time being the panic buying phase during corona virus. As a team we mitigated the risk and were still able to provide a great service to our customers. I am still young, very keen to learn and i am now looking for that next challenge.
