I built an experimental aircraft prior to being employed in aerospace. This experience in building, fabrication, and flight test - combined with a fluke encounter allowed me an opportunity to begin a career in aerospace working my dream job at Scaled Composites. Scaled Composites has a rich history as one of the pre-eminent aerospace prototype design, fabrication and flight test houses and holds a number of world records for "firsts" in aviation and space craft the most recent being a flight of the world's largest aircraft - Stratolaunch. I have spent the major portion of my career engineering the flight control system for this aircraft and have developed a strong background in flight control design, handling qualities, failure hazard analysis, and flight test related to flight controls of part 25 aircraft. I have since transitioned to employment with Stratolaunch Systems LLC to continue my work and contributions to this program. In addition to my engineering background I am also a skilled fabricator, mechanic, and pilot. I have well over 1000 hours of PIC time, extensive experience in unique taildraggers, amphibians, and have landings in all 50 US states.
