Matthew Bailey Email & Phone Number | When people say "AI is going to take over the world", I really don't think they’re all that wrong. We literally cannot escape it no matter where we look. We have voice assistants in our homes, smart cameras on our roads, and media advertisements that are riddled with terms like "Let our new AI service handle X for you". It can be extremely exciting but also somewhat scary. Having AI engrained so deeply in our lives seems unavoidable, which is why we need to try and understand it as much as possible -- and strive to create ethical, inclusive, and explainable systems. Which to be honest, sounds easier than it is but is also where the fun begins (at least for someone like myself). I am currently working as an ML Engineer and studying for my Masters in Data Science. And there is so much to learn. In order to further our knowledge of AI and expand, we need to iterate. Which any Data Scientist or Machine Learning hobbyist will tell you, can take some considerable time to evaluate/understand. We need good automation, support, frameworks, metrics, development processes and more to do whatever we can to speed up those iterations. For that reason, I have embarked on learning as much cloud computing as possible (specifically AWS) and to continually improve my skillset in both Data Science topics, development processes, and Machine/Deep learning algorithms. In a field as new and exciting as AI, there will always be new things to learn, discover, and improve on and I am going to do everything I can to be right in the middle of it.
