Business continuity, risk management, asbestos and fire safety were major components of the FM role with a 220 person strong in house team. He is extensively experienced in strategic planning/ master planning and delivering long term capital works programmes (University of Bath 500m over 10 years, total 630M) with a proven track record. He was one of the 13 Directors on the Executive Management Board to the University of Bath for over 10 years until 2019 reporting directly to the Vice Chancellor. Martyn was also a member of the University Finance Committee for 13 years during a period of extensive growth until 2021. He has taking the lead in business/master/strategic plans on construction/development viability, risk, costing, programming and infrastructure aspects of major funding bids and loans; breaking large strategic plans down into manageable projects and programmes. Using team building, risk management and strong people/ project management tools he has a good record of delivering projects to time and budget. During his term at The University of Bath the campus was doubled in size and the University ranking rose from 80+th to a top ten University for the last 10 years. His skills are extensive with a strong understanding of planning opportunities, risks. liabilities, rules, constraints, S106, and the commercial property market. Martyn took the lead on the purchase of Bath Police Station in 2014 and the Bristol and Bath Science Park from SWERDA as a JV with S. Glos Council. He was also involved in the acquisition and nomination agreements/ leases of many student residences and office accommodation for the University of Bath.
