Currently, I gladly serve as a Substance Abuse Therapist in an inpatient setting with Discovery Point Retreat (DPR) in Ennis, TX. I began with DPR in March of 2021 when I worked for their Dallas, TX office where I served the Partial Hospitalization Program, Intensive Outpatient, and Outpatient clients; I made the move to DPR’s inpatient facility in Ennis, TX to gain more clinical experience and to begin my LCSW hours in November of 2021. Prior to DPR, I faithfully served as a member of the North Texas Behavioral Health Authority (NTBHA) owned Mobile Crisis Outreach Team (MCOT), in various roles, with two agencies: Adapt Community Solutions, and Transicare Inc. respectively, for a total of 1 year and 8 months. After getting my MSW from The University of Texas at Arlington in December of 2016, and my LMSW license with the state of Texas in March of 2017, I began my social work career with Dallas Metrocare Services, where for 2 years, I served as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP). Lastly, throughout the nearly 5 years of my career I’ve learned one thing about myself: Nothing drives me more in my work as an individual, and team member of any organization I work(ed) for, than causing clients to feel seen, heard, understood, and valued, not as numbers on a spread sheet, but as human beings with rights to quality care no matter their income, background, history, or coverage status.
