Mark is the Founder & CEO of SPARCLE, which equips organizations with the data, analytics, and tools needed to measure a company’s net impact on climate change, society, and the environment. SPARC is working to power the future of high-impact investing so that financial capital flows at scale to companies having a net positive impact on people and the planet. Mark provides business and organizational development services and strategic counsel to financial institutions, companies, and investment managers who work to advance sustainable markets, metrics, and investing. Mark served as Head of ESG for Risk Metrics Group (now MSCI), which included P&L oversight and management of the global ESG Research & Analytics team. Projects included advising a sustainability hedge fund, creating the first retail ESG fund in Japan, and launching emerging markets structured investment products and corporate engagement programs for large financial institutions. As Development Director for the Nature Conservancy, Mark managed a 60 million capital campaign – an unprecedented amount raised for conservation in Massachusetts that protected over 1 million acres.
