I wrote and directed advertising, a television series, and a documentary on the social changes of Beijing. I conducted all business in Chinese, most of which was verbal but included reading and writing scripts. In 2004, I left China to pursue a two-year master’s degree in Chinese at Oxford University, England. I wrote a dissertation on Chinese social media, particularly blogs. I conducted first and second-hand research in English and Chinese. I hold both Canadian and German passports and speak English, French and German fluently. I speak advanced Chinese and read at an intermediate level. I am a beginner Spanish, Japanese and Arabic speaker. I am willing to travel as necessary.
