My previous employment has seen me completing over seven years of factory maintenance for a food grade manufacturing facility as maintenance supervisor. This position comprised of both managerial office duties and hands on practical work including preventative maintenance and shut downs. I lead and supervised the maintenance team, was involved in planning with other parties, and managed contractors when necessary. My positon also required the analyses of machine breakdowns, and the subsequent management of repairs and replacements if necessary. I also used MEX maintenance platform to manage site maintenance. Prior to this I have over 5 years of experience as a fitter machinist working on electrical motors and pumps, as well as maintenance work, general and specific machining and tool making. Preceding this I undertook a four year apprenticeship with Brisbane Water Engineering Services as an Engineering Tradesperson (Mechanical) with an additional one year’s employment as a tradesman. My time at Brisbane Water exposed me to many aspects of the water and sewerage services including working on water metres, submersible pumps, chlorine gas handling, chemical dosing, pump station maintenance and treatment plant upgrades. I also completed a six month placement with Ergon Energy working on transformer tank repairs and machining tap changer connectors. As part of the Brisbane Water Engineering Service I assisted in the maintenance and repair of the active assets associated with the wastewater pumping system, treatment plants, water pump stations, pressure control sites, tanks, reservoirs and associated plant and equipment. All positions have also required knowledge of Occupational Health, Safety and Environment standards and legislation.
