I have been involved in environmental impact assessments (EIA) at various stages (desk based research, screening, scoping, impact assessments and environmental statements); consent applications; construction environmental management plans; and method statements and a reinstatement plans; stakeholder liaison; and site audits. For the onshore cable route crossing of the Prysmian HVDC cable route, I was responsible for producing method statements for designated land and additionally produced a reinstatement plan for a large section of the route to detail restoration measures to pre-construction conditions. With Crossrail, I assisted site inspections, produced reduction plans for various resources, materials use tracking and noise and air quality surveys. I also assisted production of S61 noise applications and associated monitoring, reports and liaison with client and the Local Authority. On HS2, I was responsible for reviewing technical reports, appraising environmental impacts of route options and assisting public information events by liaising with the public who had questions regarding the environmental impact of the project. During my secondment to the Richborough OHL project I produced multiple watercourse consent applications in liaison with the EA, IDB and local authorities. This involved multiple meetings with the temporary works team and ecologists to ensure the work areas were prepared (in light of newts and voles in the area) and the methods had adequately considered vegetation removal, bankside stability and river bed scouring. I am also providing environmental advise during the construction of a National Grid substation – this includes assessing the need for ecologists to visit site when works approach ecologically sensitive areas, site audits, reviewing RAMS and updating Environmental Management Plans.
