Later he was assigned to work with a South Vietnamese Navy special operations group working to provide security and protection for people living in the vast Mekong River Delta region. He was awarded two bronze stars for his service Mark’s long time interest in water pollution abatement led him In the late 1990’s to to develop a botanical seed oil as a clean, biodegradable environmentally friendly lubricant. At that same time, the term ‘superfoods’ was becoming popular to describe foods like broccoli, , and berries that are loaded with nutritional benefits. As a botanist, Mark knew that seeds packed a nutritional punch that qualify them as the ultimate superfood. He began cold pressing locally sourced cranberry seeds. Testing revealed the cranberry oils and powders boasted a broad spectrum of phytonutrients. In 2000, Botanic Innovations became the first U.S. company to commercially produce batches of Cranberry , Raspberry , pumpkin and Black Cumin Seed oils, complete with assays showing broad-spectrum nutritional activity. Botanic Innovations has grown steadily . Today it has a portfolio of 40+ seed oils, and seed powders that are found in beauty and personal care products, supplements, food and animal nutrition products around the world.
