Early in my career I was with the ESRP, out of the Turlock office working with the Riparian Woodrat and Riparian Brush Rabbit. In conjunction with working with ESRP, I was with California State Park System removing invasive plant species, re-vegetating of removal sites and areas of bank erosion, while promoting native plant propagation within the last old-grow riparian systems in the Central Valley. With my extensive restoration knowledge, I spent several years working within the Mojave Desert. This work consisted of a rigorous project site assessment process for biological, cultural and historical resources for all erosion control, dust control, and re-vegetation projects throughout Fort Irwin and the National Training Center. The information gleaned was then incorporated into project designs to preserve all resources within the site area, upon which all projects had a direct impact to the Desert Tortoise and field operations for the military. I returned to the Central Valley were for eight years, as a Senior Planner/Environmental Coordinator, I have written and/or oversaw environmental documentation that includes NES or NES (MI), BA, Biological “No Effect Memos”, Visual Impact Assessment Memos, APE Maps, HPSR, ASR and/or HRER required for Caltrans’ approval and other federal agencies concurrence. I have written multiple CEQA Categorical Exemptions, Initial Studies, Negative and/or Mitigated Negative Declarations. I also have extensive knowledge of 404, 401, 1600, and Flood Encroachment permits necessary of projects. I have performed field assessments and surveys, environmental monitoring for compliance, permit/biological monitoring, project scope and cost estimate reviews, and public outreach. With the change from government to the private sector, I have performed several Environmental Site Assessments, written several sections for EIS’s and EA’s, written Technical Memorandums, performed business development.
