My journey has afforded me the opportunity to work on two continents, in 7 countries, and in 4 languages (of which two I am fluent – English and German). During my journey to design, engineer, and release new products and to resolve engineering and launch issues I have worked in and closely with Studio Design, Packaging, Cross Functional Groups, GD&T, Materials, CAE, Durability, NVH, ASME, AME, Fasteners, Paint, Prototyping, Tier 1 and 2 suppliers and the Production facilities. Through my varied work on luxury brand sports cars’ high-end limousines, pick-up trucks, people carriers, and commercial trucks, I have gained an experienced working knowledge of interiors from trim panels, instrument panels, carpets, and headliners and Body Structures from BIW, closures, underbody and crash structures while utilizing plastics for finish, strength and structure and steels for strength and light-weighting including cold stamped steels, hot stamped borons - Usibor and Ductibor as well as Dual Phase and TRIP materials in Tailor Rolled and Tailor Blanked scenarios. The length of time I have spent at each OEM and Tier 1 supplier has allowed me the opportunity to become thoroughly immersed in the design and manufacture process of single-layer and multi-layered body framing, joining techniques, and testing of welding, mechanical fastening, low and high strength adhesives and sealing techniques of injected foams, meltdown tapes, and expandable inserts both structural and sealing. The Various software applications that have accompanied and supported my journey include Catia V4, V5 and V6, 3DX, Simulia, Abaqus, NX, PLM, Vault, Smaragd, and TeamCenter to design and manage the products with the MS Office Suite for support and presentation as well as many varied OEM systems to aid the engineering and release processes. I look forward to an opportunity to share and use my gained knowledge and experience and to learn new and better systems and tools that allow us to design and realize even better products in an ever-changing and diverse world for our customers.
