Mariam Amin Email & Phone Number | My involvement in politics started at the age of 17 when I led an initiative to reverse a policy in the Dearborn Public Library System that aimed to prevent students under the age of 18 from entering one of the three library branches without a parent present at all times during the two weeks when schools are administrating final exams. I worked on my first local campaign for a Wayne County Commission candidate soon after the initiative. I started out as an intern and was promoted to Field Director and eventually Campaign Manager halfway through the campaign. I have worked on a few more campaigns since then, including a mayoral campaign, a city council campaign, and a school bond campaign. I currently hold a Bachelor's degree in Political Science with a minor in Communication Studies from Wayne State University. I have been on the Dean's list every semester since I started at WSU. My final GPA was a 3.98. I am also in the process of applying to law school with an aim to begin in Fall of 2023. My ultimate goal is to use my degrees and knowledge of the American political and legal systems to aid in developing a career that will be primarily focused on helping marginalized members of society, specifically women from lower socioeconomic backgrounds and immigrants.
