During my 8 years working for Audio Telex I was involved in most areas of the production line (spray painting, metal working, packaging, warehousing etc) until I was promoted to the purchasing officer of the production line. I was made redundant after the production line was moved to India in 2001. Always interested in history, I decided to apply for admittance to Macquarie University in 2002, coming away with a Bachelor of Arts in Ancient History in 2008. During this time I worked a number of odd jobs to supplement my income, for example delivery driver, office cleaner etc. However, studying at university (even if my degree in history is of little practical use) was a great time of learning for me as it taught me critical thinking, enhanced my logical thinking, improved my English skills in writing and comprehension and gave me other tools (for example, time management) that would stand me in good stead. In 2008 I joined the pharmaceutical wholesaler Anspec Pty Ltd as a storeman, responsible for picking, packing and dispatching orders. I was promoted to customer service in 2010 and worked as the customer service officer responsible for export orders to Papua New Guinea, which at the time contained our largest customer base. Due to my growing knowledge of pharmaceutical products I was moved to service the recently won pharmaceutical Prime Vendor contract for the Australian Defence Force. My experience in purchasing, warehousing and logistics, as well as my university taught skills, allowed me to service the contract successfully and meet all KPIs. I was made the customer service team leader for the ADF upon the addition of the Prime Vendor contract for Medical and Dental consumables in 2013. My team was successful in meeting all KPIs for the duration of the contracts.
