I have a natural flair for training and education, as well as specialising in projects that are outside the ordinary. I am currently looking for new opportunities to work with an organisation where I can use my unique skill-set to drive growth, internal improvement and enhance human capital. After graduating with an honours degree in French and Italian, I lived and worked in France for several years teaching both at the Université de Rouen and the Centre national d'enseignement à distance (CNED). In France I taught English to students from first year degree to PhD; translation from French into English for Rouen University; as well as teaching translation from English into French for the CNED. On returning to the UK, Itaught French at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth to degree level for a further three years. After spending several years working for an Italian company, and gaining a degree-level qualification in Marketing, I retrained as a full time further education lecturer. I now teach full time at a further education college where I am responsible for teaching English, maths employability skills, ECDL, First Aid and Terrorism Awareness. I have also taught on, and was the Internal Quality Assurer for the college’s level 5 diploma in education and training, teaching the next generation of further education lecturers. In the evenings, I teach highly successful French and Italian courses at Adult Education centres in Cambridgeshire as well as being the webmaster my his own Virtual Learning Environment which I use to support the learning of all my students. As an experienced and qualified assessor, internal quality assurer and lead internal quality assurer, I also freelance for private training companies who require IQA and LIQA services. I am an experienced Safeguarding practitioner, who has ‘designated person’ status as well as doing well over 100 hours per year of additional CPD in areas such as mental health, domestic abuse, child sexual exploitation and neglect. I am a qualified Youth Mental Health Champion. My research interests include: - The science of learning - Supporting learning using VLEs - Using goal-free problems to teach maths - Psychology and philosophy of teaching and learning
