  Manmeet Rai is a I am a multi-degreed lawyer with several years of success as a strategic business partner, corporate lawyer, and litigator. As a private lawyer, my clients have included some of India’s largest companies—such as an 8.1 million steel company—as well as U.S.-based multinationals and joint ventures. As a litigator in the equivalent of the Attorney General’s Office for the largest state in India, I’ve maintained a large and varied caseload, including landmark litigation. I have also represented individual clients and corporations in ad hoc arbitration proceedings across India, against some of the largest companies. In the U.S., I was the judicial law clerk to Hon. Magistrate Judge Linda Warner, Gallia County Municipal Court, Ohio; and Hon. Justice Bernardo Velasco, U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona. I was an in-house counsel for a multinational company and an associate at an insurance defence law firm. After moving to Canada, I finished my Articles at the Financial Services Commission of Ontario (now Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA)), Ontario Ministry of the Attorney General. Subsequently, I practiced in the field of insurance and immigration law. I advised individual and corporate clients on immigration issues and represented them before the Federal Court and the Immigration and Refugee Board. I conducted examinations under oath and appeared before the Superior Court of Ontario and the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board. Judges, senior lawyers, and professors have commended me for my love of deep dives into emerging law and my ability to build creative, compelling arguments.
