Mairead Dennehy Email & Phone Number | After graduating with a degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from UCC in 2003 I enjoyed a successful 4.5 years as an applications engineer in Analog Devices, giving customer technical support on a range of devices used in PC, Laptop and gaming applications. I then worked as a Sustaining Electronic engineer in Medtronic (formerly Covidien) in Mervue, Galway, an FDA regulated Medical device company that manufactures Ventilators, for over a year while I simultaneously studied for a masters in Biomedical Engineering at University of Limerick. I completed my Masters full time before embarking on a challenging and highly regarded Medical Physics Residency in Galway University Hospital. After completing this training program I joined the Medical Physics team in the Mid Western Radiation Oncology department run by the Mater Private Hospital. Through work experience and maintenance of Continuous Professional Development I became a registered Medical Physics Expert with the Irish College of Physicists in Medicine. After 10 years in this clinical setting as a Medical Physicist, I diversified my career into the academic setting in Limerick Institute of Technology lecturing in the subject areas I have previously studied and gained experience in.
