He was a Villum Young Investigator and has received several awards for his work, including IEEE best paper awards, the Spar Nord Foundation’s Research Prize, a Danish Independent Research Council Young Researcher’s Award, the Statoil Prize, and the EURASIP Early Career Award. He has received major grants from Independent Research Fund Denmark, the Villum Foundation, and Innovation Fund Denmark. He is very active in the scientific community, particularly in IEEE and EURASIP, where he has served in various capacities over the years. Currently, he serves as Editor-in-Chief of EURASIP Journal on Audio, Speech, and Music Processing and as Senior Area Editor of IEEE Signal Processing Letters. He is Senior Member of the IEEE, Member of EURASIP, and Fellow of the Danish Academy of Technical Sciences.
