I work to enhance the quality of GAL representation in these cases by providing support and assistance with the investigation and advocacy process. I meet with children, families, and professionals to help ensure the best interests of children are being represented in court. I was previously a School Counselor at Roosevelt Elementary in Norman, Oklahoma. I created a comprehensive school counseling program that included monthly guidance lessons, small groups, parent and teacher collaboration, and more. I was the building's 504 and State Test Coordinator. Additionally, I worked with community resources and the PTA to provide support to students and families. I started a yoga club and was chair for Red Ribbon Week. While obtaining my Master's Degree in Counseling, I worked for WVU as a Graduate Assistant in the Mountaineer Kids Club as a teacher and supervisor. Additionally, I was a school counselor intern at Bridgeport High School, Morgantown High School and Daniel Morgan Middle School where I worked with students individually, in small groups, and on a school wide basis to help build their capacity to be socially, emotionally, and academically successful and career ready. I have a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Child Development and Family Studies. I worked at WVU Hospitals in the Child Development Center as a Lead Teacher with infants from six weeks to one year. I was also previously a GA for WVU's CDFS program where I provided students with support to help them succeed in their courses and interacted with professors to give them additional help in grading and proctoring exams, lecturing courses, and research. Prior to that, I worked with elementary school-aged children at Pleasant Day Schools where I was responsible for students' wellbeing in their after school program. I am passionate about working with children, adolescents, and families. I am a certified yoga teacher and in my spare time, I enjoy being with my family and friends, as well as reading, hiking, dancing, knitting, traveling, playing golf, taking pictures, planning events, and trying new things!
