  Lut Lynen is a I started off my career as a doctor in Chad, working for MSF. This was such a lovely experience that I immediately continued with 5 extra years with MSF in Sudan and Guinea. I met my husband in Sudan and we have 2 children. Later on, I became a specialist in Internal Medicine at the University of Antwerp. From 1999 to 2002 I worked in Cambodia for the Institute of Tropical Medicine (ITM) and joined their HIV team when returning to Belgium. In 2011, I became the head of the Department of Clinical Sciences and the head of the Unit HIV & TB. In 2020 I left for two years to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), as the scientific director of ITM's DRC office. I returned to Antwerp in 2023 to become the director of ITM. My fields of interest are HIV and tuberculosis with a focus on resource-limited settings, and I am passionate about clinical decision-making.
