My initiation to the tech sector was through Mozilla where I began my journey in build & release automation then moved over to Release Management where I ran the Firefox desktop and Android mobile releases at Mozilla for several years. At Mozilla I helped implement a transition from feature-based release scheduling to a 6 week rolling schedule and also drove the release of the very first release Firefox OS, an open source OS for affordable devices. When there's a problem, I own it until it's resolved. I use high judgment to assess potential release blocking issues, track risk(s) for each release, communicate scheduling, work with teams needing custom distribution solutions, and coordinate daily with QA/Engineering and PMs to ship rapid high quality mobile updates consistently, reliably, and at scale. Thanks to my time at Mozilla I understand how to improve recurring processes with tools & automation that increase developer velocity & efficiency. In my free time I try to keep developing my coding skills, in April 2017 I completed a 2 month bootcamp with Codepath where I dove deep into Android app development and I'm excited to go further down that rabbit hole. I also work on a lot of side projects focused on building greater diversity in tech, with an emphasis on Open Source where possible. My strengths are in connecting communities who need help with useful tools, and introducing people who want to learn to potential mentors.
