That turtle didn’t survive, but from that day I was determined to do something about the plastics entering the ocean. Launching Plastic Collective in 2016, our logo was in memory of that small green turtle who died. Based on the east coast of Australia, my team and I started by developing a small mobile recycling machine called the ‘Shruder’ (shredder/extruder combo) and training program to empower remote communities to start their own resource recovery enterprise transforming waste into resources. Over the past year we received an Aust. Fed Gov Grant to research & develop a complete Plastic Collective system, with our Shruder Recycling Stations and integrate the plastic credits marketplace with our programs. We are focused on solutions for the most vulnerable regional and remote communities, to change the economics of plastic recovery and recycling and stop plastics becoming pollution.
