  Lorna Wilson is a Hello, I consider myself a highly experienced and versatile creative. I have worked for the past 20 years in editorial design and art direction roles and have availability for design help requirements and new projects this year. This year as well as freelancing on various magazines I have been working away designing a book for a whisky’s 200th anniversary next year - which is still ongoing. And have had the privilege to work with the present and previous archivist as well as great sub editors. In the earlier part of 2021, I oversaw the creative design of a new magazine Dream Garden which launched in May. I continued to work on this (remotely), bringing the design to life, carrying out repro/retouch work, creating PDFs to send to the printers and signing off the magazine, until the January 2022 issue, at which point the design was taken in-house by the owners. I also had the pleasure of creating a houseplant supplement as an addition to the January issue. I began freelancing again at the beginning of 2020 working on Aston Martin, Aston Martin Yearbook, Sphere, PrivatSea and Island Visitor magazines. Previous to deciding to go freelance again, I was the Creative Director of The Lady magazine for four years (2015-2019). Since the start of my career I have worked predominantly in a freelance capacity and have been regularly booked to work at many publishing houses and companies working on magazines, special projects and websites. I am very good at retouch work in Photoshop and am very comfortable creating web graphics etc to set specifications. I have a great understanding of working with printers and repro also. Initially trained in photography I am passionate about being able to bring together words and imagery to create a visual impact that engages with the audience.
