Licensed as an Adult Nurse Practitioner, she has held a tenured faculty position at Mount Royal University in the Advanced Studies in Critical Care Nursing program, as well as, been a guest lecturer and preceptor with the Nurse Practitioner programs of University of Calgary, Toronto and Memorial University. Her current practice is with the Orthopedic Surgery team at the Peter Lougheed Centre and Rockyview Hospital in Calgary. Lorna’s clinical nursing experience was recognized in 2015 when she was nominated for Excellence in Clinical Practice award, by her peers; and again in 2016 with a Centenary Award from CARNA. Her clinical career has spanned the worlds of geriatrics, neurosurgery, post anesthesia recovery, cardiac surgery and intensive care. When she does get away from her practice area (and she does love to get away) she enjoys travelling, the outdoors, downhill skiing and her new found love/hate of golf.
