Lizette Gonzalez is a Lizette Gonzalez is an first-generation college student at Pomona College. She is a prospective Chicane/Latine Studies major and Politics minor. She grew up in Inglewood/Lennox, a small neighborhood within L.A. At Lennox Middle School, she became a Young Eisner Scholar and then attended The Archer School for Girls with a scholarship. She is fueled by her identity, family and background to make meaningful change in her community and is empowered by her family’s and mentors’ perseverance, dedication and love. Lizette has set out to advocate for herself and her community in places where the door is normally always closed. Her experience in working with different social non profit organizations has given her the opportunity to grow her leadership and professional skills, but most importantly, to connect with people from different fields and backgrounds to amplify marginalized voices. Lizette hopes to go into the community engagement field that involves organizing, education policy, communications, and DEI advocating, and is inspired to continue advancing for social change.
