I've enjoyed a long and varied career in communications, starting as a journalist writing for national newspapers, magazines and digital media, and appearing on TV and radio in the UK and US. I'm experienced in organising and publicising events, looking after senior guests and writing briefs and scripts for senior executives and civil servants. I'm currently working for the UK Home Office providing communications and stakeholder engagement for the Law Enforcement Community Network. I'm using email newsletters, virtual roadshows and webinars to engage with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders. I've just built an intranet Sharepoint site to help keep my team and other programmes within the portfolio informed of our progress. On a voluntary basis, I'm also General Secretary for the Motor Industry Communicators Association (MICA), working with PRs and communicators in the automotive industry in the UK and US. Until February 2020 I was supporting Ford of Europe Public Affairs clientside for GTB. We had an amazing couple of years, launching the new Focus, the Active range, Ranger Raptor, Transit and Transit Custom Plug-In Hybrid, Go Electric and more. As a journalist, I wrote regularly for major national motoring magazines such as What Car? and Auto Express, and newspapers including The Independent and The Sun in the UK and the New York Post in the US, plus lifestyle media, in particular women's magazines, and websites.
