  LiswCp Andrew Gruler is a I retired in 1996, after twenty years as a Special Agent with the US Secret Service. After being involved in a fatal shooting in 1980, I was asked to assist in starting the US Secret Service Peer Support team. As coordinator of this program, I aided Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) in the aftermath of the Branch Dividian incident. I also responded to Oklahoma City after the bombing of the Murrah Federal Office Building. After retirement, I obtained a Masters in Social Worker and I am now a Licensed Independent Social Worker in SC, NC, GA, and OH and, the Clinical Director for the South Carolina Law Enforcement Peer Team Program. In this position I responded to New York City after 9/11, to assist New York Police Department and the US State Department. Along with members of North and South Highway Patrol, I responded to the Virginia Tech shooting at the request of Blacksburg and VT police departments. At the request of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, I along with troopers from Georgia as well as North and South Carolina, assisted MSHP in debriefing their troopers after the Ferguson riots. At the request of the Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas, I, and a retired Lt. from Blacksburg, VA police department and three Connecticut State Troopers, went to Santa Fe, Texas to help debrief law enforcement officers after the mass shootings at Santa Fe High School. I have either lead or taught in approximately one hundred PCISs in both North and South Carolina, Georgia, Virginia, Texas, Kentucky, and Ohio.
