  Lisa Sterman is a My life and career have been dedicated to bringing about an HIV/AIDS-free world. From my humble beginnings as an undergraduate volunteering on Ward 5A, the premier San Francisco General AIDS ward in the mid 1980, through my advocacy for prevention to help bring about PrEP options in the mid 2000's , to my care, treatment, and research experiences touching thousands of HIV positive people, I welcome opportunities to champion my mission. My current role as a specialist physician and HIV researcher has allowed me to put my own creativity to the test. I am currently conducting an investigator initiated research protocol for highly treatment experienced patients, filling a data gap for both quality of life outcomes and drug-drug interactions between Biktarvy and Doravirine in combination. I am also involved as a principal investigator with Quest clinical research on new mechanisms of actions for HIV medications, as well as collaboration with academic institutions on HIV cure protocols. I seek to engage in every aspect of cutting edge HIV prevention and cure at all levels. I am deeply committed as well to community involvement, having served on the San Francisco AIDS Foundation's governing board for 6 years and now on it's HIV Community Advisory Board for the past 5 years. Both locally and globally I collaborate on the UN AIDS 90-90-90-90 goals and the San Francisco "Getting to Zero" aspirational activities. Locally I am involved in raising community awareness of PrEP and championing the concept of U=U. I have been an international lecturer on HIV and PrEP topics for nearly 20 years. I feel that the successful work we are doing in San Francisco needs to be shared across the globe and scaled as possible with local cultural sensitivities as guiding principals. I have had the privilege of speaking on over 5 continents all over the globe, sharing my expertise and vision, and continue to do many zoom/remote international lecture series and events during covid.
