Lisa Mathews Email & Phone Number | I am a seasoned researcher with 13 years of experience in the biomedical field and 8 years as lab manager. I am currently part of a research team at the Thomas E. Starzl Transplantation Institute, our work is primarily focused on the cytokine interleukin-33 and its influence on alloimmunity and transplant outcome. Here I cultivated a vast knowledge of techniques and an eagerness for learning. I am also privileged to work with brilliant scientists who stimulate me intellectually to become a better researcher and as a result our collaborations on several projects have resulted in peer-reviewed journal articles. In 2014 graduated with my Master’s degree in Infectious Diseases and Microbiology and my project centered on the role of interleukin-33 and its receptor ST2 in pediatric allograft rejection. My master’s work spawned a journal article that was recently published in AJT for which I am co-first author. This work was also presented at the 2014 World Transplant Congress (WTC) and was winner of the Poster of Distinction Award. In addition to my contributions to the field of transplant immunology, I am also passionate about public health and in vaccine awareness and research in particular. I love science and the work I do and I always approach a challenge with enthusiasm. I am lucky to work in the field I dreamt of when I was young and I look forward to a long career perusing my passions.
