She earned a Doctor of Ministry (2018) and a Master of Divinity (2011) with a Certificate in Pastoral Care at Perkins School of Theology, a Degree in the Art of Spiritual Direction (2011) at San Francisco Theological Seminary, and is a trained spiritual direction supervisor with Together in the Mystery (2016). The emphasis of her doctoral study was Reclaiming the Role of Pastor as Spiritual Guide in the Reformed Tradition. In 2017, Lil co-founded Retreat House Spirituality Center, Inc., an intentional spiritual and religious, contemplative community of spiritual directors and spiritual formation leaders working in a covenant relationship to serve individuals and groups who wish to deepen their relationship with God through spiritual direction, education, prayer and retreat offerings. Lil also serves in the capacity of Faculty Facilitator in the Perkins School of Theology Spiritual Formation program, as well as Practicum Supervisor and Faculty in the Certification for Spiritual Direction Program. Lil shares with others her passion for the Christian spiritual life. She is active on the Board of Directors for Spiritual Ministries Institute, is a member of the Richardson Interfaith Alliance (RIA), and serves on the board of Compassionate DFW.
