I started my legal career as a commercial real estate paralegal in the UK in 2001, while attending university and law school. I then trained as a solicitor at Eversheds in Manchester for 2 years, before qualifying in September 2012. I joined KPMG in April 2013, where I continued my legal career in the field of employee incentives, executive remuneration, and corporate transactions assistance, until a change in circumstances precipitated a career break to meet family commitments, towards the end of 2014. I returned to my legal career in 2017, as a Corporate Transaction Lawyer with Latham & Watkins, where my team conducted legal due diligence on large-scale corporate transactions; undertaking contract reviews with the use and development of AI technology, and reporting on the terms and provisions of a wide range of commercial documents, contracts, and agreements. Having been raised in Bahrain, and missing family ties, I returned to the Middle East at the start of 2019 and joined Rouse & Co. in April 2019, working on a wide range of commercial and intellectual property matters. When an opportunity arose for me with EY Law LLP in Dubai, I joined their team, working across all fields of law, advising on data protection laws, employment, corporate transactions, legal due diligence, and commercial law matters for local and international clients. Aside from my experience as a lawyer, I have a strong belief in contributing to corporate social responsibility and have led on many charitable initiatives, including building eco domes, climbing North Africa's highest mountain, Barnardo's Apprentice Challenge and Store Wars competitions, and life skills projects at a local homeless centre.
