Previous work involved building awareness of the importance of peatlands, managing traineeships in heritage skills and developing the Dark Sky Discovery Sites of the North Pennines. For the Hadrian's Wall Tourism Partnership, I was part of a team that delivered community events and educational programmes along the then newly created Hadrian's Wall Path. Whilst self employed I delivered the community and interpretive work for Thirlwall Castle, an award winning project (Civic Trust), the education programme for Working with Waders (led by RSPB) and an adult learning programme for tourism providers in North Northumberland - Coast and Country. I've also written the bids for and managed a number of National Lottery Heritage projects, including Pax Britannica, Heritage Landscape Skills, Miners' Memorial Meadows and Catchment in Crisis.
