Students learn and experience first-hand the core principles and practical tools for bringing academic subjects to life in the kitchen, garden, and our wholesome classrooms. As a mother, Saint-Orens has experienced the challenges associated with caring for young children, to include access to affordable, quality educational settings, and nourishing local food. When moving to the US, she quickly realized the disconnect between environment and food, health and food, economy and food, and life and food. By leading a holistic community focused on our land + REAL world, ART-infused learning, connecting high quality education with the concepts of healthy living, organic plant-based nutrition, indigenous studies, and mindfulness as key factors, her programs help prevent a rising epidemic of nature-deficit disorder, foster empathy + compassion, and teach healthy behaviors that last a lifetime. In the Summer of 2021, WG launched RewildingATX, a community program focused on getting youth reconnected to the outdoors, including providing healing modalities and teaching foraging, as well as native/indigenous plant studies, a forest therapy program, and is expanding to offer more community workshops around forest bathing, beekeeping, urban gardening, nutrition and culinary education.
