Starting out in Wausau, Wisconsin with North Woods Rehabilitation, Ltd., I supplied various nursing homes with evaluation and therapeutic plan of care for their residents. I continued to develop my skills in rehabilitation by joining Sacred Heart Rehabilitation Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1989. I became proficient in the treatment of neurological diseases and developed an expertise in swallowing disorders. I moved with my husband in 1992 to Pittsburgh and began working at Mercy Hospital with my responsibilities being to evaluate and treat patients in acute care rehabilitation, acute care in-house, ICU, CCU and CVICU patients. I continued to develop my skills in swallowing disorders and the use of videofloroscopic evaluations, treatment of swallowing disorders and neuro- rehabilitation. I also began to work with the Pediatric nurse and medical residents in the Pediatric Mercy Healthcare Center. I have continued to work in various settings including briefly working with Minot State University in Minot, North Dakota as a University Clinical Instructor for the graduate program. My responsibilities were to develop and teach graduate students a class in swallowing disorders and also supervision of clinical training. I am now in Terre Haute, Indiana at Union Hospital, Inc. I started covering work in the pediatric clinic and the acute care hospital in 2005. Then for the past 7 years I have worked as the Therapeutics Manager for the acute care, rehabilitation and pediatric PT/OT and Speech Therapists managing about 35 staff in a department of 80 therapists.
