Laura Tovar Email & Phone Number | I studied the bachelor degree on Chemical Bacteriologist and Parasitologist at the National School of Biologic Sciences, from the Polytechnic National Institute (ENCB-IPN) in Mexico City, where I get the Master degree and the PhD on Chemical & Biological Sciences. As a result of the grade I performed two international publications: “Microbial Patogénesis, 2000; Vol 28 No. 4: 211-220” and “International Journal of Dermatology 2006, 45”. I worked at Applied Biosystems by Life Technologies from 2005 to 2012. With this company, I held different positions, from Field Application Specialist (FAS), Senior FAS, then like Support Manger and the final position was like Senior Technical Sales Specialist. In all these position I was related with a strong technical knowledge, customer facing, researches relationship and project develop and management. I’ve participated like speaker and instructor in congress, courses and workshops at universities and research centers in Mexico, such as UNAM, CINVESTAV, INMEGEN, InDRE, among others, and some abroad, in countries like Costa Rica, Panama, Peru, Honduras, Nicaragua and Guatemala. I´m currently working at the Executive Secretary of Inter-Secretarial Commission of Biosafety of Genetically Modified Organisms (CIBIOGEM) which is responsible from promote politics related to GMO’s biotechnology and biosafety, and coordinate efforts among different dependencies involved in developing the process to regulate, release and conducting risk assessment and risk management of GMO’s effects.
