Laura Salisbury is a I am a geospatial advisor in the Flood Mapping team in the Canada Centre for Mapping and Earth Observation (Natural Resources Canada). With 5+ years of science communication experience, I specialize in communicating ideas using creative visualization techniques, including mapping, animations, and visual art. I am lucky to have worked on challenging projects touching on a wide range of topics: climate change induced flood risk, coastal erosion, land-use change, history of language in Iran, etc. In these projects, I enrich the projects by creatively visualizing and communicating results, insights, and solutions. I have an M.Sc. in Geomatics (Carleton University), and a B.Sc. in Environmental Sciences (Mount Allison University). I'm excited to work towards a diploma in graphic design at Algonquin College; see my progress here: https://laurasalisbury.substack.com.
