Laura Richards Email & Phone Number | After teaching EFL and ESL both in China and the UK to all ages from Very Young Learners to In-Company adults and exam preparation (IELTS and Trinity GESE), I returned to the University of Leeds to become a lecturer in English for Academic Purposes. I currently teach EAP on the international foundation year at the Language Centre as well as developing and leading a variety of presessional modules for postgraduates, including Language for Arts and Humanities. My interest in Technology-Enchanced Learning (TEL) has led me to run various workshops and training sessions on ways in which practitioners can utilise digital tools to enhance teaching and learning. I am currently the Digital Education Academic Lead for the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Cultures. My areas of interest include ELT management, second language English speaker phonology and contrastive rhetoric. More recently I have become interested Technology-Enhanced learning for language teaching with a focus how improve the use of both learner and practitioner generated feedback both in and outside there classroom. I completed a Masters in Linguistics and ELT at the University of Leeds, with my dissertation focussing on the effect of short-term pronunciation intervention on perceived accent in Chinese L2 English speakers. My most recent research h has focused on the use of apps within the Microsoft Office suite for learner engagement and enhancement, and I am now a certified Microsoft Innovative Educator.
