Lars Albinsson Email & Phone Number | "There's got to be a better way to do this" The phrase has always been defining my work, and I began using tech to help improve the way things are done, already as a student. I dropped out to form my first company, Unusual Systems. In the 80ies I helped introduce AI and machine learning to improve car engine design and automate credit rating. In the 90ies we helped major companies and organizations create digital sales & service channels. For instance the SEB internet bank, a pioneering online bank. I was (still am!) more intested in the web as tool for people to do things, than as a passive information medium. In 98 we sold the, then 30 people, company and I began connecting tech with urban development. For instance teaching urban planning as collaborative innovation at KTH. I started Maestro to be a virtual improvement agency, allowing me to take on even bigger projects by partnering with great people and companies. In 09 I helped create the way to move two entire mining cities. In 13 I led the design of a whole town. 16-22 I worked extensively with digital disruption of the construction industry. Since 2021 I am back in my first hunting ground: AI. Building tools for organizations based on language models. The different projects got the Navarro Nathanson Innovation award in 03, the Swedish Design Award in 06, eChallenges Best Research Award in 06 and was even a finalist in the Swedish Planning Award in 14. My clients include Volvo, IKEA, Microsoft, LKAB, the cities of Stockholm & London. They all looked at something important and said “there’s got to be a better way to do this.” For me the key is to take a huge interest in the way people’s expectations evolve AND how technology develops. Then we have great opportunities to improve the world, in perhaps small but distinct steps. And I love working on that. Ps: in 2001 I finally got my B. Sc. And in 2004 I became a perpetual Ph D candidate.
