Laney Ellisor is a I am a native Oklahoman and attended the University of Oklahoma, where I served as editor in chief of The Oklahoma Daily and OUDaily.com. I graduated in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts in journalism and minors in Latin American Studies and Spanish. I then moved to Portland, Oregon, where I attended Lewis & Clark Law School. I earned my juris doctor, cum laude, and was admitted to the Oregon State Bar in 2017. After completing a term clerkship at the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon, I started a solo practice helping people with criminal convictions obtain relief. I later joined Boise Matthews Ewing LLP as an associate attorney practicing trial and appellate criminal defense but was laid off during summer 2020 due to Covid-19. I have since joined the Criminal Justice Reform Clinic at Lewis & Clark Law School as a staff attorney on the Ramos Project and the Juvenile Set Aside Project.
