Despite the onset of Greece’s financial crisis, I held on to most of my accounts, which I attribute to building strong relationships. As a Sales Manager my role was atypical in that it sat directly below the company’s President and was more characteristic of an Operations Manager. In addition to managing a large sales team, I developed and managed the change in company structure, wrote the business plan, handled recruitment and helped to steer the company through an increasingly difficult economic environment. They say studying the science teaches you to think beyond the obvious. In 2011, I co-founded a distribution company specialising in cosmetic products: brands included Crabtree & Evelyn, Maison Berger Paris, Anes&Sens, Durance, Sea Of Spa, Scottish Fine Soaps, Arran, Woods Of Windsor. As the economy diminished we kept going, largely through predicting what might be ahead, eg: forward buying six months of stock. Resilience and positivity drove us to open showroom for retailers in 2012, a first of its kind in Greece. Being able to visit, sample products and get ideas about merchandising helped us increase sales. I’ve proved I can work through seismic change, in multiple roles. Today I’m developing in Greece the Consumer’s Brand.
