During my seven years as an Instructional Technologist, I served two elementary campuses as the leader for technology-curriculum integration. I wrote professional development lessons and manuals, and trained teachers on new hardware and software adopted by the district. I worked directly with students and teachers in the computer lab and classroom to seamlessly infuse technology in lessons. I am currently the Digital Materials and Library Media Specialist for Grapevine-Colleyville ISD. This position serves primarily as the liaison between the campus librarians and the Instructional Technology and English Language Arts departments. I plan and facilitate monthly PLC meetings for campus librarians, provide and guide their professional development, and serve as a mentor for new librarians in the district. I also provide guidance and expertise to campus reconsideration committees, principals, and central administration leadership when challenges arise for library materials. I was previously an elementary school librarian, responsible for the reading health of students in Kindergarten through 5th grade. In addition to ordering print, digital, and audio books and promoting reading for pleasure and for information, I trained teachers on new technology. I collaborated, team taught, and modeled lessons in the library and classroom with students and teachers. I served my campus in several leadership positions: Learning Leader for the Enrichment team, website liaison, Campus Excellence Committee member, and Education Foundation representative. I have most recently served as a fellow for the Schlechty Center Design Camp. I facilitated several sessions over topics including Google Expeditions and other virtual reality options, Google Slides, and Nearpod. I have earned my Level 1 and 2 Google Teacher certification.
