With 18+ years of experience in some aspect of human resources, I've had the opportunity to grow and learn in a vast array of HR sectors such as talent acquisition, employee engagement, onboarding and orientation processes, training and development, benefit administration, employment law and employee relations and so much more! I have been fortunate in my career to have benefited from incredible mentors, professional development opportunites and a natural passion to learn more about my profession. Over the years I have had a well rounded career in HR with positions in the for-profit industry, the non-profit sector and even managed my own LLC in consulting, creative design and professional development. Today as a director, I am enjoy helping future leadership grow into supervisory roles, welcome new staff aboard help them grow as they start out in their profession or continue on their path at Oakland Family Services. Each day, I learn something new. Whether it's a new concept/idea in my own field or something I learn from one of the 200 professional colleagues I serve in and work along side of in social services, early childhood education, child welfare, older adult behavioral health, substance abuse, trauma, stigma...you name it. Mark Twain was right when he said something about never working a day in your life, if you find the work you love. Carpe (your) Diem!
