After receiving her professional title as a Registered Dietitian, Kristina lived in Haiti over the course of a year where she volunteered at a feeding center helping to revamp the dietary intake of children by using local and native foods. Her experience in Haiti triggered a desire to learn more, so Kristina returned back to school for her Master’s degree at the University of Minnesota School of Public Health. In graduate school, Kristina worked on several research projects including assisting with Project EAT; conducting research for Smarter Lunchroom Movement in Minnesota; writing a nutrition chapter in the book, In Pursuit of Orphan Excellence; and completing her own qualitative research study exploring the use of the Moringa tree for children’s nutrition in Uganda. Her research project took second place and received a Public Health Impact award at the U of MN’s Research Day 2015. She is the founder of Kristina DeMuth, LLC.
