In this position, I assist in overseeing the state incident management system for community mental health and substance use agencies. I complete daily data tracking, provide technical assistance to agencies, and complete other reports as assigned. I am currently an instructor for Conducting Serious Incident Investigations. My department also assists our Mental Health facilities with Mock Surveys ensuring CMS and Join Commission standards are being followed, assisting with investigations, and providing technical assistance with the state incident management system. My previous experience includes being a Behavior Support Specialist for adults with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities. I was a CPI instructor for over 10 years. I also have two years of Case Management experience with individuals with mental illnesses in Green and Hale Counties in Alabama. Prior to obtaining my BS degree, I worked as a Care Staff at a day habilitation program for ID/DD individulas. As an intern at UWA I was able to work at the Rush Pain Treatment Center in Meridian, MS. There I was able to assist with completing intake interviews, observing initial counseling sessions, completing depression and personality inventories, and assisting with biofeedback.
