I worked with the South African Police Services Trauma unit as a volunteer for many years, where I assisted onsite at crime scenes and many other traumatic events. It is of utmost importance to clear those triggers and this can often only be done with the help of someone guiding you through it gently. I assist people to work through their issues without reliving the fear or pain. We work together and move in small manageable steps towards an achievable goal. I show my clients some skills that they can use on their own, to dial down the intensity of their emotions and help them to cope. These can be used at any stage going forward in our lives.
