With over 25 years in the tech and innovation space, I bring together a unique combination of business, legal, and deep technical understanding. Before kicking off my legal career in big law and then serving as General Counsel and Chief Strategy Officer to a NYC-based startup, my technology career began during peak Y2K and the first dot-com boom. I have worked in a wide variety of industries, including a major investment bank, several startups, healthcare IT, aerospace/defense, and telecom. The topics that excite me the most are the juicy bits between tech and law (think: AI, robotics, ethics, blockchain) and enabling technologists to standup new, successful businesses – while, at the same time, building a culture of curiosity and challenge solving that furthers individual and team successes. Among other things, I am a fan of science fiction, comic books, photography, 3D printing, and the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade (a 10+ year veteran of the Stevens Inflation Team). Here are some highlights from my journey: 🌀 Verizon: I established and currently lead the Emerging Tech & Partnerships Legal Team. We work with senior executives across Verizon on strategic initiatives advising on new technologies and business models, cross-industry partnerships, and the innovation / product development lifecycle. 🌀 New York University: I served as VP of the NYU Alumni Association – keeping connections strong with our 500,000+ global alumni. Most recently, I served as mentor to a student startup as part of the Summer Launchpad Accelerator program with the NYU Entrepreneurial Institute. Venture-backed by Prudential, we established one of the first Public Benefit Corporations and a new framework for responsible data sharing. I was recognized as one of “America’s 50 Outstanding General Counsel” for innovation and leadership by the National Law Journal, and a “Rising Star” by the Minority Corporate Counsel Association.
