Kevin Holston Email & Phone Number | My research has centered on the systematics of assassin and stiletto flies, the Asilidae and Therevidae, respectively, to inform evolutionary studies of these cosmopolitan families of Diptera and can be categorized under four topics. The first is biodiversity informatics, which addressed management techniques for name and collection object records within databases. The second topic is taxonomic revision, which involved the reassessment of group circumscriptions to facilitate identifications and discovery of new species. The third topic is phylogenetic analysis, which applied morphological and molecular data towards placing the diversity of taxonomic groups within the framework of lineage diversification. The fourth is comparative ecology, which involved the evaluation of spatial and temporal distributions with reference to habitat use, morphology, and behavior among species.
