Kersten Strecker is a Kersten is in her final year completing a Masters of Primary Teaching part-time through The University of New England (UNE). She holds NESA Conditional Accreditation and Interim Approval to teach. Kersten currently works as a K-6 casual teacher at St Catherine’s School in Waverley, Holy Family Primary School in Granville, and with the NSW Department of Education. Kersten has worked part-time as the Extra-Curricular Visual Arts Teacher in the Junior School at St Catherine’s since 2017. During Term 2 2023, Kersten worked full-time at St Catherine’s as the K-6 Visual Arts Teacher in a relief position. Prior to that, Kersten worked with RAW Art, a mobile creative arts service presenting visual art workshops in primary school classrooms across Sydney and regional NSW. Kersten holds a Bachelor of Arts in Visual Arts from City Art Institute (UNSW) with a photography and printmaking major and worked as a professional photographer shooting still life, food, and lifestyle images in Australia and overseas. Kersten’s photography has contributed to many successful advertising campaigns and editorial stories including; David Jones, Country Road, Sheridan Australia, Donna Hay Magazine, Harper’s BAZAAR Australia, Australian Vogue Living, Martha Stewart Living, and LIFE Magazine.
