Once my youngest child reached 14 I left the school environment and entered the business world. My systematic approach and process-driven school background gave me a good foundation for my CS manager role. This role developed me further in managing the needs of a team, leading redundancies, disciplinaries and dismissal within my first 12 months. The aptitude and tenacity shown within this position resulted in the SLT developing a new position that merged key departments under one banner and proposing that I Iead that team. Several years later have seen a dramatic escalation in profits not just departmentally but throughout the business. Successes which can be directly attributed to the entrepreneurial spirit and the forward-thinking of the directors and the SLT.
